HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-05-14PLANNING BOARD MEETING ' May 14, 1946 Present: Messrs. Richards, Nickerson, Worthen and Cromwell Benjamin A. Simeone The Board met with Mr. Simeone and his lawyer, Albert A. Miller, to consider a proposed subdivision. Mr. Simeone brought to the meeting a plan which was a revision of the plan he had shown to the Board at an earlier meeting. This one was marked, "Plan of Proposed House Lots in Lexin�ton, Massachusetts, Owned by Benjamin A. Simeone; Scale 1' to 801; February 1946; Albert A. Miller; 146 lots, 101,5001 of street, all lots at least 100r frontage and 12,500 square feet." The committee approved in general of the plan. Mr. Simeone intends to develop only the area which includes the street on the southwesterly side of the property- in the beginning. He was told to present his completed plan to the Board of Survey after getting it marked as being approved by the Planning Board. Selfridge Property The committee considered a plan marked, "Proposed Subdivision Land in Lexington; Scale 1" equals 401; April 1946; G. B. Northrop, Belmont, Massachusetts." The property is on the SelinGnt.line, westerly of Adams Street and northerly of North Street. The Board recommended to Mr. Northrop, who was present, that the plan be revised so as to provide either a turn around at the end of the street that runs into the Burlington Line or their cutting off that street, including two house lots, to obviate the necessity for a turn around. The committee indicated that it was favorable to the plan in other respects. Planning Board Approval of Layout Tracings The Planning Board received from the Selectmen a letter dated April 30, 1946 iftdicating that the Board of Selectmen had voted that all Board of Survey layout tracings approved by the Planning Board must have the signature of the Chairman of that Board before they are submitted to the Board of Survey. According to the letter it was also voted that the Planning Board be represented at all Board of Survey hearings. Building 21 -laws The Board received a letter dated May 2 from the Selectmen in which it was sgked to review Article 19 of the Building By-laws for the purpose of submitting recommendations to the Selectmen for the revision thereof if possible to permit the maintenance of neon ' signs. It was concluded by the Planning Board that it would not look with favor upon any change in Article 19, and that the Selectmen should be so advised. ResI c/tfull s itted, Clerk of Planninb Board.
