Parking Project The Planning Board met with the Selectmen and the Appropriation Committee to consider the parking project in the area behind the theater. The only objections to the project that were strongly voiced were from various individuals, including Mr. George Smith, who felt that the parking area would be so large as to make lots devoted to commerial use too small. Charles H. McLaughlin Mr. McLaughlin has acquired or plans to acquire the property between Spring Street and the Concord Turnpike that Mr. Carrig had recently planned to develop. Mr. McLaughlin, however, feels that the project would be too expensive to develop if he has to abide by the existing Board of Survey regulations as regards roads. He was told by the Planning Board that it has no power to change the Board of Survey regulations and that he should take this matter up with the Board of Survey itself. George W. Sarano Mr. Sarano presented a plan of subdivision marked "Everett M. Brooks, Newtonville, Massachusetts, January 1946, Barrymeade Farm, Lincoln Street and Marrett Road." Subject to providing for a turn-around at the end of Barrymeade Drive, the Planning Board approved this subdivision. Stamped Envelopes It was voted to authorize the town to purchase 500 three cent stamped envelopes with the Planning Board imprint. Next Meeting The next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 19, 1946.
