Richards MEETING OF PLANNING BOARD January 24, 1944 ' w Present: Messrs. Greeley, Worthen, Richards and Cromwell. The Board met with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss the parking area project. Mr. William Ballard was present. The model of the parking area prepared by Mr. Dreselly was presented and considered. The Chamber of Commerce and the Planning Board approved the project in general, as did Mr. Ballard. There was some lack of agreement on details. The Chamber of Commerce and the Planning Board then met with the Selectmen who considered the project but did not commit themselves as to it. The Selectmen decided to appoint a committee to study the matter further. Rotes: ' Some years ago there were plans to widen Waltham Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Vine Brook Road. It is believed the county actually laid out the line. Questions: Was the strip actually taken? Who has title to it? What easements exist? Mr. Ballard strongly favored extension of proposed street behind proposed parking area across Muzzey to Clark Street. He stressed the need for greater circulation of traffic. The Planning Board should write to the Selectmen suggesting; they look into the proposed by the Boston Edison Company re parking on Massachusetts Avenue. rIe (s) rd Poanwell, Clerk 1
