HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-02-27I PLANNING, BOARD HEARING February 27, 1942 A public hearing was held in the Selectmen's Room of the Town Office Building, Lexington, on Friday.. February 27, 1942 at 8:00 P. M. Messrs. Greeley, Kimball, and Newhall were present. Mr. Greeley declared the hearing open and stated that it was being held in connection with the amendment to the Lexington Zoning By -Laws as set forth in the notice which appeared in the February 12, 1942 issue of the Lexington Minute Man as follows: "By adding the following to Section 6. (a) second paragraph: - However on such lots there shall be provided on each side of each dwelling or other permitted main structure a side yard which shall be kept open from the front line of the main structure to the rear line thereof as follows: On lots recorded previous to July 19, 1929 the side ' yard shall be at least 7.5 feet in width and on lots recorded after July 19, 1929 but before October 6, 1938 the side yard shall be at least 10 feet in width." As there was no one present to speak in favor of or in opposition to the amendment, the hearing was declared closed at 8:02 P. M. Respectfully submitted, Clerk 1 PLANNING BOARD MEETING February 27, 1942 A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held on Friday, February 27th in the Town Office Building at 8:10 P.M. after the hearing. Present were Messrs. Greeley, Kimball and Newhall. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted. Mr. Lloyd A. Murray, representing the Lloyd Trust, 804 Park Square Building, Boston, again appeared in connection with his proposed subdivision of the so-called Taylor Estate, located at Bedford and Revere Streets and Larchmont Lane. Mr. Greeley submitted to Mr. Murray a tentative new plan, which has been placed on file. Mr. Murray expressed enthusi- astic approval of the revised plan, of which he was given a copy. The minutes of the hearings of February 13th were read and approved as were the reports of same to be used in Town Meeting; (1) For increasing number of associate members of Board of Appeals and (2) for change of zone from Cl to R1 west side of Massachusetts Avenue from Winthrop Road to southerly line of Thivierge property. ' Mr. Kimball reported having been present at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and a few invited interested per- sons at which a discussion was held relative to the problem of converting old, large houses to two or more family structures. It was voted that Mr. Greeley compose a letter in answer to a written request from the Chamber of Commerce asking the Planning Board to suggest possible legislation to relieve this problem, and present the draft at the next meeting for approval. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P. M. The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 9th at 7:30 P. M. Respectfully submitted, Clerk u Taylor Estate Hearings Old Houses
