HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-01-26n PLANNING BOARD MEETING January 26, 1942 A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held on Monday, January 26, 1942 at the Town Office Buildings Messrs. Greeley, Ellis, Kimball, Worthen and Newhall were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Mr. Kimball stated that a hearing would not be necessary Zoning in connection with the proposed change relative to the rein- Law troduction of the same amendment within a period of two years Changes since it concerns compliance with an enabling act. The hearings for other proposed amendments will be held as follows: 7:45 p.m. Friday, February 13th. Increase of number of associate members of the Board of Appeals from two to four. (Section 16). 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 13th. Change of west side of Massa- chusetts Avenue, Winthrop Road to Thivie rge Property from Cl to Rl district.(Section 3(b) Paragraph 8) At the suggestion of the Town Engineer, Mr. Cosgrove, an amend- ment will be introduced at the same time for the purpose of changing the wording of Section 3 (b) Paragraph 7, so that the compass directions and descriptions will conform with those used in connection with the entire length of Mass. Avenue. A letter was drafted to the Board of Assessors asking them to write us stating that the zone in question is now valued as residential and not as business, for use if necessary on the Town Meeting floor as well as at the hearing. The Board noted that in cases of land parcels subdivided Simonds under a tax lien, the signatures required by the Land Court Farm fort he sale of the property are those of the Board of Survey and not of the Planning Board, as far as the present local law goes. This refers to plans submitted on September 16, 1940 and December 29, 1941 relative.to lots in the Simonds Farm property which were approved by the Planning Board. A discussion relative to side yards resulted in the Zoning proposal that another hearing be held Friday, February 27th, Law and that the proper form of amendment be drafted and pre- Changes sented at the next meeting. Mr. Worthen reported having attended a meeting on Parking Parking and New Streets attended by Messrs. T. A. Custance, and F. K. Johnson, W. H. Ballard, and himself. He presented an Traffic informal written report which was voted accepted and placed on file. The subject will be discussed more fully at the ' next meeting, after which a letter will be sent to the Chamber of Commerce setting forth the Boards attitude on the ideas set forth in the report.
