HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-11-17 PLATTTTITTC BOARD i':ErTIi G November 17, 1941 A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held Monday, November 17th, at Town Office Building at 7 :30 P. :4. Present were Messrs. Greeley, Ellis , Nickerson and Newhall . The clerk was authorized to order a new record book, Volume 4, similar to Volume 3. It was VOTED: That $15. be appropriated for annual dues for the year 1941-2 to the Massachusetts Federation of Planning Boards. A letter was read from M. L. Etheridge requesting the closlnrc of the end of Concord Avenue at the last Concord house before the street joins the Turnpike. Mr. Ether- Avenue idge was advised by letter that the use of Old concord Avenue has been planned as a future feeder from adjoin- ing developments into the new highway. Betterment assessments , ' rouzht up in connection with the Moreland Avenue problem, were discussed. The clerk was instructed to write Philip Nichols requesting Betterment any information the Mass . Federation of Planning Boards Assessments might be able to furnish which might help the Town de- cide whether or not to change the present procedure. Mr. R. L. Ryder appeared before the Board asking approval of a plan for development of the entire area R.L.Ryder adjacent to Vine Brook, bounded roughly by Winthrop Road, Land Marrett Road, -Valtham Street and Vine Brook Road. The Board was inclined to approve the plan on condition that Mr. Ryder have ready definite drainage plans before pre- senting the proposition to the Board of Survey. Mr. Ryder also showed a preliminary plan for develop- ment of the area bounded by Cary Avenue , Shade Street and the rear of Marrett Road and Spring Street. The Board asked for a topographical map before taking any action on this plan. Regarding the request for the annual budget, it was Appr opria- voted the clerk file the same figures as those of last tions year, totalling A25O. Mr. Newhall was authorized to proceed with and Six-Year finish the budget plan, and was empowered to use any Budget sum up to ;?100. to complete the work. Mr. Ellis mentioned the fire hazard in the grass and ' brush on town land between Vine Brook Road and Winthrop Road Extension, parallel to Waltham Street. The clerk was instructed to write the Fire Department asking for removal of this menace by burning over the area. The meeting adjourned at 9 :35 P. M.
