PLANNING HOARD MEETING
September 29, 1941
A re .filar rf eetinE- of the Planning Board was held at
the Town Office 'wilding, Monday.. September 29th at 7;30
P. i1. T.Tessrs. rrreeley, Kimball.. Nickerson and 1.7orthen
were present.
Bills were approved for payment:
S$1.30 for Slides Bills
3.00 for Typing
The Board accepted the signation of Thr. Worthen from
the Budget Committee of two, and the Chairman will appoint Resignation
a member to fill the vacancy.
Mr. 7edden met lith the Board to discuss long-range
planning, and several department heads were also present Budget Plan
to outline their needs and to discuss Form A, which has
been sent to all of the department heads. Department heads
attending, and a brief outline of their contributions:
Mr. Paxton: Reconstruction and new roads to be required by
building boom, but not easy to forecast precisely.
Vlork of the same nature in the Center, if takings
' are made. Drainage; water and sewer construction;
traffic control; auxiliary shed at Public Works
Building; road machinery.
Mr. Garrity; Fencing center playground; grading; locker building
at center playground; toilet facilities at East
and North Lexington.
Mr. Taylor: Housing; Equipment; Alarm System
Mr. Grindle; Playground development at the schools; Sprinkler
systems; heating; gymnasium partition; work out-
side regular repair account.
Mr. Sullivan: Additional men for traffic duty; special police
work; police car.
Mr. Carroll: Voting machines
Mr. Greeley pointed out that the gentlemen expressing
their views sere not committing themselves in any manner.
The department heads were requested to work on their estimates
giving priorities and dates on all items of unusual capital
expenses.
' At the request of the Town Counsel, the Board reviewed
the land court plan of property opposite Utica Street. Property
This property has been foreclosed by the Town and is in the Off
process of going through the land court. A -prospective
purchaser wishes to develop the land. The.plan shows a
10 foot right of way, crossing Brecks property to the Ryder
property, giving access to and from the latter's
property. Inasmuch as the nature of the right of way
does not lend itself to suitable lot development, ,
Mr. Wrightington requests the Board to study the
problem and to lay out a street acceptable to the
Planning Board.
The Board reviewed the question and it was
Voted: To approve on paper, for purposes of the Registry
of Deeds, the establishement of a road forty feet in
width,and one hundred and twenty-five feet in depth,
from and parallel to the easterly property line of the
parcel.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October
14th, at 7:30 P. M.
