September 2, 1941
A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held at the
Town Office Building, Tuesday, September 2, at 7 :30 P. M.
All members were present.
C. ''J. Ryder' s latest proposal to offer his land on Ryder
Waltham Street to the Federal Government for a National Park Land for
was discussed. Congresswoman Rogers having asked for the Park
town' s reaction to this proposal, it was voted that the Board
again go on record against the use of this property for park
purposes.
Relative to the recent surrgestion to the Selectmen that Building
they negotiate with the Boston Edison Company in anticipation Line at
of setting back that property owned by them at Massachusetts Edison
Avenue and Grant Street to conform with the Building Line , Property
Mr. Greeley found in conference with the Edison officials
that their company had already deeded to the Town 4200 sq.ft.
of land, which would allow a setback of 20.15 feet. Mr.
Greeley agreed to check this deed and also that of the Post
Office property.
It was reported that the Town of Andover had requested Out-of-Town
conies of our Zoning Laws and Board of Survey Regulations Planning
and that these had been forwarded. Boards
It was voted that the sub-committee , Worthen and Newhall,
on budgets proceed as outlinedby W. S. Parker and Paul Hedden
at a recent conference at which those four discussed the Budgets
mechanics of setting up a six-year forecast for capital outlay.
Forms are to be distributed to various department heads and
these will meet with the Board as the next step. Either Mr.
Parker or Mr. Redden will try to be present at this meeting.
The Board then met with the Selectmen and recorded dia-
approval of the proposed purchase of land at Waltham Street Purchase
and Playground Drive by the Town. The budget plan was also of
discussed in this meeting and the Selectmen promised to Land
cooperate .
The next meeting, at which the department heads and
either Parker or Hedden will attend, will be held on Tuesday,
September 16th.
The meeting adjourned at 9 :55 P. M.
