HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-12-16PLANNING BOARD MEETING I December 16, 1940 A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held Monday, December 16, at 7:30 in the Town Office Building. Messrs. Greeley, Kimball, and Worthen were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as received. New Business A letter was received from the Selectmen concerning Sub-divi"sion Regulations, and suggesting closer co-operation and contact between the Planning Board and the Town Engineer and the Supt. of Public Works, The Clerk was instructed to reply that these officials, and any citizen, are welcome to attend the meetings of the Board (the provisions governing its establishment prohibits making either an ex -officio member of the Board) and that copies of the minutes of the meetings will be forwarded to both of the above-named officials. A letter was received from the Selectmen, with copy of Town Counsel's opinion, in reference to restricting the con- struction of garages adjoining highways, from which cars are backed out into the highway, obstructing or endangering traffic. A letter was received from the Selectmen, pertaining to the proposed route for the Middlesex Turnpike outlet, Middlesex asking for a copy of this Board's layout for same, and Turnpike asking the opinion of this Board as to a public meeting on the subject, as suggested by the newly elected Repre- sentative. A copy of this Board's plan was turned over to the Selectmen and the Clerk was instructed to reply suggesting a hearing some time in January, or as they suggest, at which time we will endeavor to have a repre- sentative of the State Dept. of Public Works present with plans. old Business The Board reviewed progress on the Parking Survey; the parking census chart for the center is completed, as well as the 113 P. M. Saturday" parking map. A report will be drawn up, with conclusions and recommendations, from a Parking review of the statistics and data, and with it will go Survey photostatic copies of the chart and map to the Selectmen, Chamber of Commerce, Supt. of Public Works, and State Dept. of Public Works. Reporting on the Budget plan, the Chairman stated Budget that Mr. Newhall has completed 1 year, but needs to Plan check some Items with town officers, following which the other years should be completed without delay. The next meeting will be held Monday, December 30, at 7,30 P. M. This will be a brief meeting before the Town Meeting, The Meeting adjourned at 9.30 P. M. Respectfully submitted, Clerk 1 1
