The Clerk was instructed to submit this budget to the Town
Accountant, with a letter from the Board explaining the
request for this sum even though the
expenditures have been
less this year.
Speaking on the Budget, the Chairman offered to get
In touch with Mr. 17m, Stanley Parker to see if a meeting Budget
could be arranged some day during the week to discuss this Plan
work.
A list was presented, made up in 1938 by Mr. Raymond,
giving 5 and 10 year needs. These projects covered only
water, drainage, sewer, and street work or construction.
The subject of a new firehouse was taken as one need that
will be urgent in the near future, and one that has re-
ceived careful study by special committees. It was voted
to write Chief Edward Taylor, stating that this Board is
interested in the possible development of adequate stations
and would like to confer with him on Dec. 2d and go over
committee reports bearing on the matter.
Mr. Kimball reported considerable progress on the
parking survey; the survey, commenced a week ago, is
'
completed, andd the data is on hand. The tabulations are
in the same form as in 1935, In order to make the mass
of information useful and readable, Mr. Kimball is
plotting it in graphic form. This chart will show the
number of cars, locations, by hours and days, comparing
Parking 1935 and 1940. Before all of this plotting can be com-
Survey pleted, a considerable amount of clerical and statistical
work must be done on the tabulation sheets, and it was
Voted that funds be made available to complete these
tables, and for the ii*ing of the chart. Mr. Ellis
offered to speak to Mr. Chas. Proctor about the tables.
In regard to the possibilit$es of a parking area
to the rear of the stores between the Edison Station and
the Depot, the Clerk reported a reply from Mr. O'Connell,
in which he states that his property has been leased, and
contracts have been let for the leveling and^enelosing of
the same. The Board considered that there apparently was
no further point in considering the use of this land.
The next meeting will be held Monday, December 2d, at
7:30 P. M.
The meeting adjourned at 9 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
Clerk
