HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-10-28PLANNING BOARD MEETING ' October 28, 1940 A meeting of the Planning Board was held on Monday evening, October 28th, at 7;30 P. M. in the Town Office Building. All members were present, and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. ,On the subject of traffic and parking, Mr. Paxton was received and reported progress. Mr. Kimball spoke on traffic count procedure, and it was moved and so voted, that the Board appropriate the sum of not over ten (10) dollars, this amount to be used for mimeographing the necessary forms and summary sheets And a certain amount of tabulating labor. The possibility of a parking area being developed to the rear of the business blocks, from the Edison Station to the Depot, was discussed. This would be open at both ends. It was felt that the opinions of Messrs. Rubin and Seligman, O'Connell, Hunt, and Viano should be sought, to see what arrangements might be made for a joint parking area. ' Mr. Greeley agreed to answer a letter from Mr. J. Co Hutchinson, of the Associate Committee, stating that the Board would like to see the Scouts follow up a project of locating and listing untenantable houses. The greater part of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of the Budget program. The Winchester town reports were compared as to method of accounting and presentation with our tabulations and those of the Town Accountant. It was moved that ten (10) dollars additional be appropriated toward further work for the Board. This would be to check our tabulations against the Appropria- tion Committee reports to investigate items that do not explain themselves clearly. So Voted, Mr. Greeley to speak to Mr. Rudd, Mr. Kimball reported that Miss Corcoran will assume the duties of stenographer for the Board. The next meeting will be held Monday, November 18th, at 7:30 P. M. The meeting adjourned at 9;15 P. M. ' Respectfully submitted, Clerk Parking Parking Area Budget
