', AUG. 12, 1940.
A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held on
Monday evening, August 12, at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office
Building. All members were present except Mr. Ellis.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as
received.
Mr. Greeley, reporting on the parking area study, stated
that he and Mr. Ellis were endeavoring to obtain the Board's Parking
report from the Chamber of Commerce, this report incorporating study.
the views of both committees, that we may carry on with the
work accomplished to date.
The Board was in agreement that it would be proper and
worthwhile to make a study of land areas, in an attempt to Apartment
discover what locations actually, in our opinion, are suit-
able for apartment construction, such areas not to fall under
the criticism of "spot zoning", and beyond the confines of
established properties strictly residential in character.
In order to carry out some preliminary thought on the matter]
a field trip was agreed upon for the evening of August 15, at
' 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Kimball reported progress and study on the Master
Plan, also highway and road condition survey completed for
base map.
Mr. Greeley to speak to Mr. Alan Adams about the budget
Plan.
Mr. Greeley reported progress on the plottings for the
unused land map. The Clerk was instructed to send the Board's
thanks to Mr. Norris for the assistance of the Boy Scouts.
Next meeting, Aug. 260 at 7:30 P.M.
The meeting adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
