' JULY 29, 1940.
A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held on
Monday evening, July 29, at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office
Building. All members were present except Mr. Ferguson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as
received.
Old Business
Mr. Greeley is to obtain this Boardts report on parking
and traffic in the center from the Chamber of Commerce Parking
committee, so that we may continue our own study of the survey
matter until such time as convenient for both groups to meet
jointly.
The scout maps (street number plottings) have been
turned over to the Chairman, substantially completed, for use
in plotting the real estate listings.
New Business
' The Board received a letter from the Town Counsel in
reference to a Statute of 1938, Ch. 133, Sec. 1 and 2 (being Ch. 133
a special act that must be accepted by the town before be- Sec. 1 & 2
coming effective) and replied that it considers that it
would be a proper thing for the town to adopt this act, but
would prefer not to have.it introduced before the next
annual meeting.
Mr. Kimball presented a suggested comprehensive outline
of procedure for the Budget Plan, and this method of
procedure, as well as the Boardts preliminary considerations Budget
on the matter, were discussed with Mr. Sheldon of the plan
Appropriation Committee. Mr. Russell is to be contacted
before the next meeting, which will be held August 12.
The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
