Greeley, Kimball and Nickerson were present. Mr. Nickerson acted as Clerk. Mr. Greeley referred to a letter in the "Minute -Man" signed "Troubled", the writer of which seemed confused as to the funcations of the Planning Board. Mr. Greeley was asked to clarify the method or procedure for a zone change by b. letter to the "Minute -Man". Mr. Greeley raised the point that the Planning Board some years ago recommended to the Highway Department that it prepare a program extending over a number of years to map out roads showing their present condition and figuring out depreciation. The Board felt that the department should formulate a plan showing how much need be spent annually for the road program. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Highway Department inquiring if it has any information along these lines, and offering this Board's assistance if needed. Mr. Greeley was instructed to write to Mr. Victor Cutter, regional Director of Conservation, recommending that supplies of food be developed to prevent war famine in Europe. The Planning Board met with the Board of Assessors for a brief conference for the purpose of stating that the Planning Board felt that a large map, in size like the one in Cary Hall, should be prepared showing every property in Lexington, with its assessment rate designated by cross- hatching. The Board felt that evident truths would be thus indicated which should be extremely useful. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Board of Assessors, confirming the statements made at the conference and offering the Planning Board's assistance if desired. Mr. Kimball reported progress on his map showing property for sale and passed it to Mr. Greeley temporarily for further spotting. Next meeting, Monday, June 10, 7:30 P.M. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. ' Respectfully submitted, . _ Clerk. Highways Assessments.
