' JULY 26, 1939,
A meeting of the Planning Board was held on July 26,
1939, at 8:00 P. M.
Article 14 in the Warrant for the Town Meeting July
27th was discussed, this being the proposed change in the
Zoning By --Laws to create an R,3 zone for the accommodation
of apartment houses. It was decided that Mr. Ellis should
present the vote, Mr. Ferguson the report and Mr, Greeley
was asked to explain several points.
Mr. Greeley reported that a student, Stuart Chapin,
had been recommended by the planning department at M.I.T.
for possibly doing work for tle Planning Board this summer.
Mr. Greeley will hire him if he considers him the right man
and start him at planning work as followst
(1) Traffic situation and parking at Lexington Center.
( ) Tying the Aldrich estate donated by Mr. Hayden into
our general scheme.

' Mr. Ferguson raised the question of some sort of Auto
police or sign 4ontrol to prevent excessive speeding through Traffic
Lexington. The Board directed the Clerk to arrange a meet-
ing with the Selectmen in this regard.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
