HomeMy WebLinkAbout1939-06-26' PLANNING BOARD MEETING JUNE 26, 1939. A meeting of the Planning Board was June 26th, at 8:00 P.M. Messrs, Greeley, Ferguson and Nickerson were present. L 1 held Monday, Ellis, Worthen, Mr. Greeley read a report from Mr. Hartman relative to loam stripping, which report was given to Mr. Wright- ington for study. A pertinent letter from the Wayland Zoning Board of Appeals was also read and a transcript of the Wayland Zoning Law with reppect to loam was included. The Planning Board feels that this particular case of loam removal from the property of the Monotony Trust Co, on Lincoln Street should be pushed up to the Supreme Court by arguing that this issue is not dead until all loam is stripped from the 56 acres. Furthermore the Board feels that there is a possibility of arguing the case on grounds of a public nuisance or menace to the public health and safety. It was voted that the matter of preparing a brochure for the purpose of attracting more profitable citizens to our town be laid over to the first October meeting. Loam Removal Brochure It was voted that Mr. Greeley contact Professor Adams at M.I.T. re employing some M.I.T. student this summer for Maps further engineering work to supplement our 1938 work and that Mr. Greeley be authorized to spend up to $75, for such work. The Clerk was instructed to answer a letter received from Mr. Gettens of Plymouth Road, who wrote to the Board Complaint objecting to the type of construction and sewage disposal re house of a house being erected in that vicinity. The Clerk was Plymouth instructed to communicate with the Building Inspector in Road this regard, and to advise lir. Gettens that this was all that we could do, but that it would be advisable for him to examine the deed of land to see if any restrictions were incorporated in same. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
