PLANNING BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 25, 1939.
Messrs. Greeley, Kimball, Ellis and Nickerson present.
Mr. Maitland, who is considering making an application
for a change from R.1 to C.1 for a plot of land 400 x'450
on the Concord Turnpike at the Lincoln line, appeared before
the Board. He intends to build a lunchroom if granted the
change. The Board informed him of the necessary procedure
and instructed the clerk to mail the proper form for a hear-
ing application.

A letter was received from Mr. Taft stating that he
would regard our recent vote to pay him $50. for work done Mr. Taft
in connection with assessment statistics as complete pay-
ment for the work done. The Board voted to accept Mr.
Taft's position in the case.
Messrs. Greeley and Nickerson were instructed to meet
the Chairman of the Selectmen and Appropriation Committee
Monday, January 30, to discuss the possibility of arousing
interest among citizens and groups within the town to
instigate an effort toward attracting to Lexington, types
of home owners which prove profitable financially to the town.
Mr. Greeley presented a slightly revised annual report
for publication in the yearly book and the Board voted to
accept same.
