at the underpass while the consensus of opinion was that Circum-
sufficient clearance and satisfactory drainage could not ferential
both be accomplished, the obtaining of engineering data to
substantiate the opinion would run into some expense, and
that Mr. Cosgrove should proceed to obtain the necessary
prints as drawn.
The draft of a letter to the State Planning Board was
considered but not closed.
Mr. Cosgrove explained the Fletcher Avenue situation
and presented a proposed layout which was in effect an ex-
tension of Sherman Street. Heavy construction in the way Fletcher
of a ledge would make this a relatively expensive project. Avenue
Mr. Duffy is not convinced of the full rights of the order
closing the street. Alternative routes were considered
but no decision reached.

tail and no new angles being developed, the following vote
was recorded*

the following reasons:
Merriam
1. To maintain the original intention of zoning Factory
this area for one family houses. Site
2. The erection of an apartment would tend to
impair the status of the neighborhood.
3. The board is of the opinion that there is in-
sufficient demand for so-called multi-family
houses to warrant financial success, but to
the contrary that the demand is increasing
for the smaller type residence which would be
more appropriate for this district.
