HomeMy WebLinkAbout1933-12-15PLANNING BOARD MEETING ' December 15, 1933 A meeting of the Planning Board was held in the Town Office Building on Friday evening, December 15, 1933, The Following members were Ir esent:- Messrs. Duffy, Glynn, Kimball, and Robinson. An am:ndment to the Zoning By -Law relative to the fre- quency with which petitions for any one project can be pre- sented to the Board, was discussed at length with particular consideration to drafts of such amendment presented by Mr. Kimball and Mr. Glynn. In conclusion it was VOTED: That the Board adopt the tentative revision of Section 17 of the By -Law as suggested; and that Mr. Kimball ccnfer with Mr, Wrightington, the Town Counsel, for any suggestion that he may have relative to the powers of the Board to limit the presentation of petitions by citizens. Mr. Kimball was also asked to obtain Mr. Wrightingtonts opinion relative to changing the present specified legal notice of public hearings, to twenty days in conformity with the new act governing zoning matters. It was further suggested that Mr. Wrightington be asked to examine the whole of our present By -Law with respect to the new Chapter 269 of the General Laws, and suggest any other amendments or ' changes that the Board should incorporate in our'Zoning By - Law. Meantime, the members of the Board should also study Chapter 269 and note any changes that might be made to bring our By -Law into correspondence. Mr. Glynn was asked to confer with the other members of the Board of Appeals relative to an amendment specifying the constitution of that Board, a matter which is not now defined in the By -Law, Section 10 of the By -Law was discussed, particularly In view of a suggestion by Mr. Hartman that the law should read "existing uses" instead of "existing buildings"; and Mr. Kimball was requested to draw up a revised draft of that section embodying the change. Mr. Duffy discussed the relation of the Planning Board to the State Federation of Planning Boards and also with the State Planning Division, raising the question as to which should govern the promotion of zoning matters, The Clerk was asked to write to Mr. Wrightington and to the Selectmen informing them that the Board is consider- ing the whole subject of zoning and asking them for any suggestions &s to changes that their use of the By -Law has shown to be desirable, '29th. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.
