June 2, 1933
A meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held at the Town
Office Building on Friday evening, June 2, 1933, at 7:45 o'clock, the
following being present: Messrs. Duffy, Glynn, Milne, and Robinson, also
the secretary.
LIMITED APARTMENT ZONE POSTPONED
Mr. Eugene Kraetzer telephoned that he had abandoned his intention
of meeting with the Board, with further reference to the proposed new
zone providing for the erection of Limited -apartment buildings. He and
Mr. Greeley had decided not to ask for action on this matter at the next
Town Meeting, June 19th.
PROPOSED LAYOUT OF DUNHAM LAND, WOBURN STREET.
A plan was presented showing a proposed layout of an area, the property
of Mr. Leonard K. Dunham, fronting on Woburn Street; and it was explained
by Mr. F. P. Cutter, engineer, that his client wishes to have a layout
approved because a lot has been sold to a Mr. Porter, who cannot obtain a
permit to build a house until a street to staked out fronting his land, It
appeared from the plan that a proposed Dunham Street shown therein would
pass diredtly through the Porter lot; but Mr. Cutter had prepared a sketoh
relocating Dunham Street so that it would avoid that difficulty and would
probably connect with an extension through to Utica Street. Lots shown
were of 100 feet frontage and 200 feet depth. Mr. Cutter also said that
one of the streets on his plan could probably be carried through to Laconia
and Lowell Streets. The Board favored this idea, suggesting that Young
Street should ultimately be extended to join Lowell Street. Mr. Milne
made the following motion, which was VOTED : "The Planning Board recom-
mends that a street be laid out leading from Woburn Street through the
middle of the Dunham property, and that Dunham Street be extended through

the property in the general direction of Laconia Street so as to mate
a proper connection with Laconia and Lowell Streets; and furthermore,
that the development of the streets in the entire area between Lowell
and Woburn Streets in the vicinity of the Dunham property be fixed at
the location of
this time giving consideration to the abandonment of"Young Street as sL
present established, with the substitution of a new street through the
YQuung property from Webb Street to Laconia and Lowell Streets approxi-
mately along the line of a present right-of-way; and that in addition,
the extension of Dunham Street southwesterly should connect with the
present street leadingfrom Utica Street. The Board does not recommend"
the exytension of Fernald Street within the Dunham property at this time.*
LAND OF WHITTUS HEIRS: CORNER EAST AND LOWELL STREETS
Mr Cutter also presented a sketoh-plan of a parcel of land at the
southeast corner of the junction of Lowell and last Streets, in the name
of the *Heirs of August Whittus*. He explained that there are four heirs
to this estate who wish to divide the property by laying out five streets
through it. Mr. Duffy suggested that Mr. Cutter draw up a tentative
layout which could be considered by the Board; and the latter said that
he would do so, meantime consulting with the Town Engineer.
BRICK VILLAGE: EAST LEXINGTON

the latter had approved the plans of proposed streets in the property of
Harry E. Johnson, known as the Lexington Brick Village, located off
