Liessrs. Emery, Glynn, Milne and Luffy were present. The Town Engineer and the secretary were also present. A letter was received from the secretary of the Heading Planning Board asking for a key map for future development of Lexington. He was informed by letter that we have no map of this sort and that we were sending him a cops of our Zoning Laws with map attached. The prcvject of Town Forests was discussed. There are about eight acres of land around the Old Reservoir and three and nine - tenths at Bo,.°rman Park. The land pit the rear of the Westview Cemetery is not to be called a forest but just used to keep the trees for transplanting. Around the reservoir they could be used to fill up the spaces and shade the pond, but would not be planted for timber. tr. Emery stated that he thought Town Forests were large areas set apart to be used for parks and picnics. The Board, In suggesting the areas named, only considered property owned by Town the Town. Vine Brook area was suggested., but Spruce and Pine, Forests the trees which are furnished by the State, grow.on solid ground. The State night not be furnishing trees in a few years so it would be wise to start this project soon. The Town Engineer presented a plan showing the Fuller and Morey properties on North Hancock Street. This is the.only land in that locality which has not been developed. The Fuller property [i r consists of fifteen acres which has been divided up into 55 lots of 80 feet or more frontage with the exception of three which are 75 feet, and the Pvlorey property has five acres. Mr. Emery suggested raking, nine 90 ft. lots o,.zt of ten 80 ft. lots but Mr. Cosgrove Develop- ment of informed him that Mr. Fuller had figured on more lots than there Fuller & Morey were now. The Board felt that the street layout was satisfactory Property but that an appeal should be made to Dur. Fuller asking him to keep the lots as large as possible. If a plan was submitted with 90 ft. lots instead of 8C ft., there would be more chance of getting, better lotting. The Town is taking land from Mr. ;Morey to widen the tri- angle at the junction of ruancock Street and North Hancock Street. This will improve the frontage of the two lots located_ at the corner but will take two large trees. The Town should not dis- regard trees as they do when other towns go out of their way to save them. It is thought that these two Oak trees could be saved by adhering to the existing lines and making a small taking. L.r. Cosgrove presented a plan of Gillen Street from :"laltham Street to Blossor. Street and stated that he is going to start work on the development of the Roberts property on this street which consists of 374 acres. The matter of tax titles owned by the town was brought up and discussed. The !'own has liens on property and the owners have five or seven years in which to buy the property back. At the end of that tire, the Town takes possession of it if the owner has not paid expenses. The Town Engineer was instructed, to con- PY orev Taking Town Tax Titles fer with the Assessors and Tax Collector for the purpose of getting information as to the possibility of the Town taking or having taken title to large areas of low land upon which taxes have not • 1 r 3/ been paid, to be used for town purposes. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P. k,. hespectfully submitted, Clerk
