"For consideration of the proposal to change from an Fl District to a Cl Listri.ct, the zoning of the triangular lot of land bounded on the north by the Boston & Maine Rail- road , on the south by Woburn Street, and on the west by Fletcher Avenue " , Present - Messrs . Glynn, Milne , Duffy, Scheibe , and clerk. Mr Glynn took charge . Daniel J . O 'Connell - 1536 Mass. Ave . , - Owner of the property. This piece of land is known as "Fletcher , Durip" and"N'letcher' s Pond" . The first chart made by the Planning Board s stated that it was in a Business District, but it was changed because a coal yard was contemplated. It is no development for hones . He stated that he has greatly improved roved it by filling it in with gravel as it was only a swamp infested by mosquitoes . } It is within the area of business and is unsuited for anything else . Practically 100% of the property owners .=,,,j in the specified district agreed that the change should be made . He stated that he lives across the street 'r" and has no idea of putting up anything that s'. would rear his own property as well as any- t, one elses . Has bought the property beside the Baptist Church for this reason. # ) Mus.planned either stores, showroof or a filling station. Whatever it is, itwill be an asset to the Town. It is, in his mind, only fit for business . Frank Picciani, 57 Woburn Street - Declared himself in favor t of the change Manuel Moniz, 58 iNoburn Street - Leclared himself in favor of the change . Mabel Liscomb, 50 Cedar Street , Malden - Stated that she was sure that whatever Mr . O 'Connell does is for a good improvement and is very much, in favor of the change . M J Vaughan, 72 Woburn Street - Leclared himself in favor of the change . yC Stephen Donnellan, 40 Cottage Street :- Declared himself in favor of the change . Y1 Margaret McCann, 8 Cottage Street : - Declared herself in favor of the change . 1 Hallie C . Blake., 50 Meriam Street - There is no immediate need for adding this business area . Took li _ the matter up with Mr . Emery and he stated they had put it in the Residential District because they did not want business there . Between Grant Street and ileteher Avenue °' is in the business area and it is not being �h used as such. Doctor Barnes came to the :z Board and asked fora gas station next to 41 Mrs. Leary's house but they felt it would : be a detriment to the church across the ;fig street . ' When Mr . O 'Connell bought the property, it was residential and he doesn't see why °'., ha should expect the town to change it . + He can build on the other side of the street. to Feels that if there was any reason for 0 a change , it should have been changed before. Eugene J . Viano, 110 Bedford Street :- Zoning was started to mane Lexington a better living place . As Mr. Blake has pointed out, there is ,64 plenty of business property in the center of the town and these people are paying high taxes .
