PLANNING BOARD STING
IOctober 3, 1930
8:15 P . M.
Present :- Emery, Scheibe , Glynn, Cosgrove, Higgins
end clerk.
The business of the meeting was the discussion of
the Extension of Sherman Street. It will coat $3,000.00 to
move the Buckley house and buildings and restore the grounds,
and $750.00 for a retaining wall. The total estimate given
by the Town Engineer was $9,000.00. The Board thinks that
it should be constructed through from Hancock Street to
Woburn Street because traffic is not great enough for just
the short distance from Oakland Street to Sherman Street .
Voted: "That the Planning Boyd does not recommend
the acceptance of any layout of the extension of Sherman '""
Street to Oakland Street except it be in conjunction with Sherman
the extension of Oakland Street northward to Hancock Street St . Exten�
and the further extension of Sherman Street southward to a sion '?
proper junction with Woburn Street at a point northeast of
the railroad; that if and when .such a scheme extending con-
tinuously from Hancock Street to Woburn Street be laid out, +.
the Planning Board is in favor of the extension of Sherman ek
Street on a substantially straight line through to Oakland - 6.;a
Street as indicated by the dotted red lines on- the Town -.a

man Street, October 1, 1930" at an estihated outside cost 4
given by the Town Engineer as $9,000.00 for that particular
extension to include cost of construction, land damages '_,y

is further reoommended that the width of the through street ,:
from Hancoek Street to Woburn Street be laid ant at not less
thin fifty feet and that the sharp reverse curve new apparently ' T-

A letter was written D. J. O 'Connell stating that
the Planning Board refused to recommend the change and it Bean
III was his right to ask for en article in the Town Warrant to petitin;
see if the Town would vote to recommend the change.

A letter was written Mr®. Alen Spencer asking for • Ellen,
a plat showing the location of the land in question and a Spencer 1
chock of $20.00 to cover expenses of a bearing.
The meeting adjourned at $;30 P . M.
