and, provided no betterments
are assessed and that the PUMing Berard will arrange
with the Tuckersrelative
of iota* t® the necessary adjustment
The question is raised as to whether, even though
the land is all given, and although the Board has ae.
cured the owners that if this were; done no beiteraents
would in all probability be assesaed, the Town can be r4o
Properly asked to Assume the entire cost of building
the road.
After quite some dissuasion it is felt that the

atthe owners and leave to them the matter ef-reeoMmend-

by Mr. Daffy, and which does not meet with the Board's
approval.
;The Chairman states, however, thu

LUNDERGAN'S APPLICATION
FOR neo FAMILY HOUSE ON
SYLV.
IA ' STREET*
ET
From information received from Mr
Lunciergr , it ap•
Pears that the location. ,die has in mind for the Rrapesed
t -lot 621 house is "204 ft. baak from Masa. .Ave .and on
a lot 62* x 801 - just under the required 5000 i to
May 9 ---2.
Although the majorij* of the houses on the short
' stretch of Sylvia Street lieSng in Lexington are now
twOOfaMily houses, and no great harm would be done by
the erection of another; and despite the opinion of
some of the members that Seo. S of the By-Laws might
be interpreted to Permit Of an exception, being made in
this case; -nit is the tooling of all that we should be
. most careful at the outset that no precedents be estab-
lished tending to weaken our Zoning Ordinances.
Mr. Worthen suggests that`in this particular case the
Selectmen might very properly ask Mr. Lundergan to bring
In a petition, signed by the necessary percentage of
Owners, asking that the street be transferred to the R2
zone• -
This done, it could be brought up in Town Meeting,
be approved by the Planning Board, and properly put
through in accordance with the Zoningft
By Lawa.
It 18 left ;that the Chairman see Town Counsel Stone,
and after-conferring with him, put the matter up to the
Selectmen.
HIGHWAY
LINES.
Mrs Duffy brings up the great importance ofestablish•
Ing Highway lines and reads appy of letter sent by him in
1021, to the Board of S®loctmen, askingthat petitions be
sent the County ComMissioners
The Secretary is instructed to oo=mmioate with the Se
ft
eotmen, asking that thematterbe reviewed and that def
finite action be taken.
BLAKE
DEELOPmWT *
Mr. Blake, while approving the proposed new 'street
through the old *ownw property, does not feel he can fo
follow out theProposed lot divisions; and, having with-
drawn his ,petition far a fear•family house, subedts a lay-
out which will eventually pro ids 6-lots between the new
street and Hancock Street as suggested, but whish, instead
Of two lots in the rear, calls for a short court by which
four may be obtained.
This Wets with the approval of all and as-soon-as Mr.
Wadman can provide a proper and accurate blueprint, the Seca,
rotary is Instructed to write the Selectmen a supplementary
letter, stating that the proposed layout has the Planning
Board's approval and Recommending it be adopted,
