The Automobile Expense :accounts were reduced because the new
car will not require the repairs that were necessary Ln the old
car. The Gas"line Acc un+ was also reduced.
Laboratury Equipment will be purchased fr m the 1q^'1 Budget,
therefore a $1000, was eliminated from this ace ant .

The Rabies Clinic Expense Budget was discussed. It was pointer
out that this year there sh uld '-)e appr ,xi mately 3000 a ngs license

would inuicate a larger attendance at the Rabies Clinic, therefore,
an increase was made to purchase extra vaccine and alv• to have RABIES

The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held 'Ionday,
December 6, 1Q-1 in Meeting ' eon r f the Tcwn 0ffice Building.
Members present were Dr. :,'illiam Ccs^'reve, Chairman, Tr . James
Lambie , Dr. Charles Ellicott and Rob rt Heustis , Direct r of

of the Bamb Hut cn Nc--ornber 29, 1971 , was discussed and appr )ved

Mr. Heustis explained that the C .mmon Victulars license HUT
issued by the Selectmen was due for renewal and the health de-

Mr. Heustis said he diu not kn :w if the Selectmen would
review the hours of operation for the Bamboo Hut before
issuing the CommL.n Victulars Licence but this might eliminate
some of the complaints re'arding the noise , I did mention
agai^ in the letter t.; the „electmer that the Board of Health
would revoke the Food Establishment Permit of the Bamboo Hut
if future inspections showed continued violations.
419 BEDFORD
STREET The order t( : cubert Drake, 419 Bedford Street, to remove
one goat and two cults from the premises was approved by the
Board.
Mr. Heustis explained 4-hat Mr . Drake had just moved to
Lexington fr •m Nev Hampshire and brought the animals with him.
The lots in this area are small and he would not have enough
land to keep the animals. A re-inspection showed that the
arimals were not on the premises.
The subdivision plan, owned by Robert Cclbourne, located
.,CTBDIVTSION o• Mountain Foad and dated November 17, 1971, was approved by
MOUNTAIN the Board with the following conditions
'ROAD
1. 7c ouilding permit shall be issued unless town water
service is provided.
2. No building permit shall be issued until the require-
ments of the State Sanitary Code , Article XI ,
"Minimum Requirements for the Disposal of Sanitary

r. ,_eustis explained to the B. and that J hn Walters, Jr.
of 19 Oakland Street had requested permission to instal an
19 OAKLAND over-flow cesspool to c )rrect a nuisance with his septic system.
STREET Mr. Walters property is within 200 feet of the public sewer
but the soil pipe drain from his house is about 20 feet below
the surface level of Oakland Street . The sewer line , according
to the Town Engineer, is only 6 feet below the surface at this
point on Oakland Street. In order to connect to public sewer
Mr. Walters t.,ould have to pump the sewage up hill, also the
land towards Oakland Street is all rock ledge and estimated
to be about 100 feet.
Due to the difficulties involved to connect this house
to public sewer the Board voted to grant Mr. Walters a variance
and allow him to install an over-flow cesspCol or leaching area.

STREET The letter from Mr. H. L. Lotto, 199 Woburn Street, re-
garding the sewage problem he has an his property was read by
the Beard.
Mr. Heustis explained that the section of Woburn Street
where Mr. Lotto was located was a problem area but could not
be serviced by town sewer until a trunk line was brought through
this area. He said we will continue to recommend the area
for public sewer. This section of Woburn_ Street , Webb Street
and Young Jtreet are having a let of trouble with the in-
dividual sewage systems.

Mr. Heustis explained that F 'arc s 7. Donovan, 675 I,-avrett
Road, had requested an extension o' time to connect his house
to public sewe—. He explained that Mr. Donovan was having a
problem trying to get c 'ntrac` rs t. du the wurle. In the mean-
time he has has his system pumped ut and will watch on as n ± 6-'r;

The re-application for a permit to keep 2 ponies by Edward
H. Fitzgerald, 31 James .street vas discussed by the Board. HORSES

Mr. Heus'- is explaires that in June Mr. Fitzgeralx was STREET
ordered to remove the ponies from his premises , lie had the
horses for the past 13 years without a permit . At that time

Dr. EllicPtt rep reed that he haL, met with the Rand .f YOUTH
Selectmen regarding the Youth (kuncilinl ,ervice. He explained COlNCILTTTG

Youth .services Account . The funding f;r "Replace whore

Dr. Ellicott said nothing definite has come fr -m this
meeting but he will keep the and informed.
Mr . Lambie said the rcmmi"tee to investigate the Mystic

Mr. Heustis reported that he has attended the Meeting of
the League of ;;omen Voters regarding the operation of the SANITARY
Sanitary LandFill. The results from this meeting were LAND FILL
1. Agreed that the Lane Fill was nut operated properly.
2. They would like to see the re-cycling center enlarged.
3 . Would like to see the Town employ additional monitors
at the rand Fill.
The Beard members discusses changing their regular meeting
date to coincide with the meetinrr nights of other Town Boards.
It was agreed that '�onday night was nuw convenient fur all members.
