BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 1966 The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Monday, September 12, 1966, at 8:00 P.M. in the Health Depart- ment Office. Members present were: Mr. R. L. McQuillan, Chair- man, Dr. William L. Cosgrove, Mr. James M. West, and Director of Public Health James F. Finneran. The minutes of the July 11, 1966 meeting were reviewed and approved by the Board. Mr. McQuillan announced that the Lexington Board of Health will host the October 5 meeting of the Northeast Association of Boards of Health at the Lexington Motor Inn. All members signi- fied they will attend this meeting. MEETING N.E.ASSOC. BOARDS OF HEALTH Mr. Finneran reported that a series of clinics for influ FLU CLINICS enza vaccination of all Town employees is planned for September 27 and November 22 on the basis of advisory reports of the State Health Service, indicating an expected outbreak of Asian Flu in New England starting in late December. The Board voted approval for the planned clinics. Mr. West reported that the semi-annual report of the Mystic Valley Mental Health Association included announcement of re- location from Muzzey Street to 186 Bedford Street. He noted that an open house celebration is planned for later in the fall with invitations to the Board planned. Brown, Right SEWAGE of Way Engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, SYSTEMS in which the Board of Health notified the Department of Public #34 & Works that the proposed relocation of private sewage disposal #44 systems was not approved in accordance with the unfavorabletLOSSOMCREST report by the Sanitary Engineering Division of the Mass- ROAD achusetts Department of Public Health. The Board approved the letter. The Board approved the letter to the Planning Board recem- SUBDIVISION mending approval of the Subdivision Peacock Farm, Section IV, PEACOCK subject to the condition that Lots 67, 68, 69, and 85, be FARM, Sec.1V restricted for4building until prior approval of the Board of Health. A letter from Attorney Richard Miller regarding release ATTORNEY'S of inspectional records of the dining room at Battle Green Inn LETTER RE: was read, and the Board voted no further action be taken. BATTLE GREEN INN Letters regarding the operation of the Moon Hill Community Swimming Pool were reviewed by the Board, and the recommenda- MOON HILL tions of the State Sanitary Engineering Division on pool operation POOL were accepted as appropriate for this case. The Board discussed the advisability of holding a public MEASLE clinic for measles vaccination. Letters from members of the CLINIC Physicians Advisory Committee were reviewed, and the Board con- cluded that a public clinic for all residents who have not re- ceived vaccine, and who have never had measles, should be eligible. The Board directed Mr. Finneran to plan a public clinic for the near future.
