Dr. Cosgrove reported that the work on the new Dental Clinic
was coming along good. The plumber was ready to have the Dental
Equipment installed and the electrician had a little more work to
do, but the Clinic will soon be ready for use within the next
week or two.
It was voted that the next meeting of the Board of Health
would be held Monday, December 18, 1961. The clerk was instructed
to obtain a conference room in the Cary Hall if no other space
was available.

BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
DECEMBER 18, 1961
The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Monday,
December 18, 1961, at 7:30 P.M. in the Health Office. Members
present were Mr.' R.L. McQuillan, Chairman, Dr. William Cosgrove
and Health Officer, Mark D. Lurvey.
The minutes of the November 22, 1961, meeting were approved
as read.
MINUTEMAN The subdivision entitled "Minuteman Research Park" was dis-
RESEARCH approved by the Board because of lack of sufficient information
(PARK regarding the sewage facilities for this subdivision.
Mr. Lurvey explained to the Board that he had talked to
Mr. Damone, who represents Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes, Inc., regard-
ing this problem and Mr. Damon has assured Mr. Lurvey that re-
vised plans will be sent to the Health Department which will
show the plans for sewage disposal facilities. Mr. Lurvey said
as soon as the new plans..are received he will contact Mr. Lucas
of Whitman & Howard, Inc. and have him check this subdivision
before any further action is taken by the Health Department.
kKINGSTON HOMES The letter to the Planning Board stating that Lots 1,2 and
INC. 3 of the Kingston Homes, Inc. subdivision off Maple Street
could be properly drained was approved by the Board.
Mr. Lurvey explained that these lots were originally dis-
approved in the Letter of October 23, 1961 to the planning
Board, but a re-examination by Mr. Lucas at the request of the
builder showed these Lots could be satisfactorily drained. Mr.
Lurvey further explained that often when our engineer examines
these Lots they are not adequately marked and therefore it is
very difficult for him to know just where the sewage system is
to be placed or if the Lots are right for drainage; such was the
case in.this subdivision and on the re-examination the builder
was present and therefore was able to designate the Lots in
question properly.
The letter to Mr. Allen Adams stating that at the present
time there was 3 Dairy Herds of more than 10 cows in Lexington
was approved. Mr. McQuillan explained he had met Mr. Adams one
day and Mr. Adams had requested this information.
The letter to Margaret Morrison, L.V.N.A. stating that TB
a patient with Tuberculosis had recently moved from Chelmsford
to Lexington and requesting the L.V.N.A. do the usual follow-up
on the case was approved by the Board.
The •letter from Mark Moore, Jr. stating that he had filed
a definitive plan with the Planning Board entitled "Bowser
Saddle Club Estates" was read by the Board.

The letter notifying Mr. James Carroll, Town Clerk of the REGULATION4
change in septic tank regulations was approved by the Board.
This letter was written December 4, 1961 and as the revision of
the regulation went into effect December 1, 1961, the Town Clerk
was notified of the change within the 10 day period allowed by law.
The letter to the planning board regarding "Longfellow "LONGFELLOW/
Estates, Section 2" stating that no building or structure be ESTATES
erected without prior conscent of the Board of Health was app- SECTION II"
roved by the Board.
Mr. Lurvey explained that when the subdivision was first
submitted he understood it was to be sewered, but when he talked
to Mr. Snow of the Planning Board he was told that there would be
no Public Sewer and therefore the original report of Mr. Lucas from
Whitman & Howard, Inc. on this subdivision would have to be dis-
regarded and until the owners had a sanitary engineer design and
submit sewage systems for this subdivision approval could not be
granted.
The notice from Middlesex County Sanatorium stating their TB PATIENT
policy in regards to discharging patients was read by the Board INFORMATIOP
and placed on file. A copy of this notice was sent to Miss
Morrison of the L.V.N.A.
Mr. Lurvey reported that the first Asian Flu Clinic was all ASIAN FLU
set for Thursday, December 21, 1961. 1t this time a dose of In- CLINIC
fluenza Vaccine will be administered to Town Employees as long as
the vaccine lasts. As soon as more vaccine is available another
clinic will be set up.
Letter from Attorney Robert L. Halfyard regarding the app- LOTS 89 &
royal of Lots 89 and 90 Burroughs Road was discussed by the 90 BURROUGH4
Board. Mr. Halfyard had enclosed a form to be signed by the ROAD
Board and notarized by a Notary Public. Mr. Lurvey said he
had no record of a house being built on Lot 89 but we do have
approval for a house to be built on Lot 90. No action was taken
by the Board at this time.
Letter to Robert White, Secretary Pro -Tem, of the Appropriation

Committee requesting the transfer of $.154.71 from the Reserve
Fund to the Dental Clinic Account was approved by the Board.
The Whitman & Howard engineering bill was approved for
payment by the Board.

The clerk waszgranted permission to order the duplicator
machine for the office. The Board felt with the amount of wo
involted in clinics and also the notices that had to be sent t
Doctors periodically through the year that this machine would
save a lot of time. The Board also instructed the clerk and
Mr. Lurvey to check the supplies and order any supplies nec-
essary for the coming year for the clinics that will.be sch-
eduled.
Mr. McQuillan instructed the clerk to take care of the
annual reports for the Health Department and to mention the
moving of the Dental Clinic and any other item of interest
which happened in 1961.
