SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF HEALTH
OCTOBER 24, 1960
A Special meeting of the Board of Health was held on
October 24, 1960 at the Lexington Inn at 12:00 noon. Mem-
bers present were Chairman, Mr. R. L. McQuillan, Dr. Cosgrove
Mr. Charles Cole and Health Officer Mark D. Lurvey.
The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the
problem of the stock piling of manure at Potter's 'iggery.
1 visit to the piggery was made and an inspection of the
manure piles was made by the Board.
After the visit to the piggery and a short discussion
of the manure piles at the piggery the Board voted to
send Mr. William Potter, Walnut Farm Trust, a letter in
which was stated that: the existing manure piles in the
area the members of the Board of Health and Mr. William
Potter, Jr. examined on October 24, 1960 shall be lerelad
off to a height of not more than two feet and covered with
one foot of earth. This must be done by November 28, 1960.
All new dumping must not be in large piles, as is the
present case, but shall be trenched or leveled off and, at
least weekly, covered with one foot of earth.
As the problem of Potter's Piggery is in the hands of
the Town Council a copy of this letter was sent to Mr. Harold
Stevens, Town Council, and also a copy to Mr. Potter's attorney
Mr. James E. Shaw, Dunstable, Massachusetts.
