A hospital for Lexington was discussed. An article is
to be put in the Town Warrant asking that a committee be ap-
pointed to visit other towns and hospitals and suggest a pro-
gram and plan for Lexington. Mr. McQuillan said that the Town
Hospital itself could purchase land and turn it over to a private cor-
poration, and then donate money from time to time to help out.
Lexington certainly should start something as in the very near
future a town this size should have its own hospital. The sur-
rounding towns are coming to the point where they like the revenue
but haven't the room for Lexington patients. In case of emergency,
Lexington should have its own hospital.
It was suggested that some of the men who install and clean
cesspools and septic tanks in Lexington be asked to meet with
the Board of Health to discuss regulation of charges for such
work and other problems,
Mr. McQuillan suggested a chart of inspections be kept in
the Health Office showing when inspections are made, so that
at a glance the Board and Mr. Lurvey can tell when an inspection
is due and when the last one was made, etc.
The plans for the new hotel to be built in Lexington at the
intersection of Marrett Road and Route 128 were discussed. It
will be sewered from School Street. Mr. Lurvey approved the
restaurant plan which is to be included in the hotel. He would
not approve the installation of a dumbwaiter.
Potter's Piggery was discussed. At the time some of the red -
idents in the area bought or built their homes they were led
to believe that very shortly the pigs would no longer be there.
