July 22, 1955
The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held
in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, on Friday,
July 22, 1955. Present were Chairman McQuillan, Dr.
Cosgrove and Mr. Lurvey.
Reports of the Lexington Visiting Nurse Association
and the Middlesex County Sanatorium were read and discussed.
There was some discussion about Albert R. Muir's settle -
Went, a patient at the Sanatorium. Lexington is responsi-
ble at the present time. A new patient, Nicholina Galarneau,
89 Bow Street, is to be admitted on Monday, July 25. We
will have five in all, four having been discharged recently.
Two applications for permits to keep animals and live-
stock were presented. One, Mrs. Swenson, 145 Spring St.,
was granted, but Mr. Brucchi's application is being held
for consideration. A letter dictated by Mr. McQuillan is
to be sent to Mr. William Maloney who is said to be keeping
animals at the former Breck's property(Brucchi).
The Health S anitarian's report was discussed. The
Wingate Road section must be severed. Mr. Lurvey is to take
it up with Mr. Burns, Public Works.
The Board asked about the old Reservoir and the North
Street sand pit. Mr. Lurvey is running water tests. The
Planning Board is interested in these sites as future rec-
reational sites.
Mr. Lurvey asked the Board if it would like the lots,
cesspools, septic tanks, etc., listed that he inspects each
month. The Board said it would like any unusual cases
brought to its attention.
The next meeting of the Board will be on September 16,
no meeting in August.
