BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
February 18, 1955
The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Friday,
February 18, 1955, at 3 P.M. in the Selectmen's Room, Town
Office Building. Mr. McQuillan, Chairman, Mr. Lurvey, Health
Sanitarian, and the Clerk were present.
Letter was received from Department of Public Health regard-
Slaughter ing nomination of Slaughfer Inspector, and Mr. Mark Lurvey was
Inspector nominated, subject to the approval of the other members of the
Board, which approval was received.
Letter was received from the Planning Board regarding Sun
Sun Valley, Section 1V, subdivision. Letter was written by the
Valley Chairman to the Planning Board stating that the Board had no
objection to this subdivision as this section, a s were the
others, was to be sewered. This also subject to the approval
of the other members of the Board, which approval was received.
Report of the Lexington Visiting Nurse Association for the
LVNA month of January read and noted.
Mr. Hurtado of 63 Westview Street again asked for permission
Swine to keep swine. In September, 1954, a letter was sent to Mr.
Hurtado refusing him permission to keep swine, and an order was
sent that he keep no more swine at this address after March 24,
1955. The Chairman suggested that Mr. Hurtado be notified
that this order still stands. This subject to the approval of
the other members of the Board which approval was received.
Bills The Chairman approved the bills paid and to be paid for the
Board of Health. Bills to be paid included yearly dues for the
Health Sanitarian in the National Association of Sanitarians
and Massachusetts Milk Inspectors Association. Also bill from
Dr. Short for polio shot to Lexington resident for experimental
purposes.
Slaughter-
house
The Chairman suggested letter to be written to Mr. Monsignore,
subject to approval of the other members, which was received,
advising him that it was not the intention of the Board to renew
his license for a slaughter house at Laconia Street when it
expires on April 30, 1955.
At the request of the Chairman a letter was sent to Mr. Carrig
Minute regarding subdivision at Minute Man Highlands, advising him to
'c M inform prospective buyers that some lots may not be approved
Highlands without considerable effort to assure this Department that they
can be adequately serviced with a subsurface disposal system.
The following application was approved by the Chairmgysubject
to the approval of the other members of the Board, which approval
was received.
Animal Dr. Vincent McCrossen 627 Massachusetts Avenue 6 goats
Permit 80 poultry
The report of the Health Sanitarian was read and noted.
