BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
.January 18, 1952
A regular meeting of the Board of Health was
held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building
on Friday, January 18, 1952 at 3:00 P.M. Chairman
Cosgrove, Mr. McQuillan, Mr. Jackson, Health Sani-
tarian, and the Agent were present.
The Chairman read a letter from Keith L. Mac-
Lean, 80 Bloomfield Street, relative to a drainage
problem. He claims that water from Highland Avenue,
an accepted street, flows into his drive and backs
MacLean into his garage and cellar.
drainage The Agent was instructed to refer the communi-
cation to the Superintendent of Public Works inas-
much as the Board felt that this is a drainage pro-
blem rather than a matter for the Board of Health.
Licenses
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
voted to renew the following licenses:
Mary Silva Trans. of Garbage
Community Nursery School Child Day Care
F. A. Napoli & Son Poultry Slaughter
Application was received from David Brooks,
140 Reed Street, for permission to keep two swine.
Mr. Jackson reported that some of the neighbors
object.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
voted to deny the application.
Mr. Jackson reported that someone wants to
purchase the MacDonald poultry plant on Bedford
Street. The Board was of the opinion that no
license to keep poultry at this location would
be granted if there is a change in ownership.
A lengthy discussion was held relative to the
conditions on Gleason Road as a result of Mr.
Manor Stevens connecting his disposal pipes to the storm
sewage drain. Mr. Jackson *as instructed to take another
dye test immediately to determine whether or not
sewage from the Stevens' house is running into the
storm drain.

The Agent was instructed to make an appointment
for Town Counsel to meet with the Board at its next
meeting for the purpose of of discussing the correct
procedure to be followed to force the property owners
to connect with the sewer.
The meeting adjourned at 3:L10 P.M.
