Williams 400 Lowell Street Day Nursery III j ga00 tri 4.94 .HIE.,1.9 d 4atemieff 7, 5 p4in M 8 I 128 ' BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING 'z7 September 7, 1951 A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Off ice Building on Friday, September 7, 1951. Chairman Cosgrove, Mr. McQuillan, Mr. Jackson, the Sanitarian, and the Agent were present. Mr. John Brucchi, 63 Paul Revere Road, met with the Board to discuss. Ills application for a permit to keep 6 horses, 7 cows, and 75 poultry. Mr. Brucchi stated that he has had no trouble with any of his neighbors with the exception of Mr. Adams who lives next door. The Chairman inquired as to the kind of horses that would be kept and Mr. Brucchi replied that he will have ponies and possibly one or two saddle horses. He said that at time there may be an extra horse or two until he disposes of them. The Chairman asked if he had any sheep on the premises and he admitted that he has four. He said that if he is given permiesion to keep horses he will not keep Sheep because the horses will keep the pasture cut down too fine. He said that if the application is approved he will "cut out every- thing else". Mr. Brucchi said that Mr. McQuillan had Brucehi inspected his place and admitted that it has been improved 100%. Mr. Jackson said that the property has been improved, but Mr. Brucchi is still keeping more animals than his permit allows. Mr. Brucchi asked if he would have to have a permit to keep a jackass and the Chairman replied in the affirmative. Mr. Brucchi asked if it would be considered a horse and the Chairman replied in the negative. Mr. Brucchi said that the Board had better include a jackass on the application and that if it made any noise he would dispose of it. The Chairman said that the Board would consider the application. Mr. Brucchi said that in the meantime he might have some ponies. The Chairmen said that he would not give hif permission to keep ponies. Mr. Bruochi retired at 3:50 P.M. Mr. Jackson reported that he has checked with the neighbors in the vicinity and the three nearest are opposed to a permit being granted because they feel that if permission is granted for one animal Mr. Brucohi will keep more. He said that the neighbors feel this is a residential area and should be kept as such. Upon motion made and seconded, it was voted to grant Mr. Brucchi a permit to keep 2 horses and 75 poultry: 129 Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to grant the following licenses: Louis H. Williams 400 Lowell Street Day Nursery School Letter was received from the Symmes Arlington Hospital advising that Mr. Kirkland, 33 Reed Street, Lexington, will need assistance• in payment of bill for the board and Care of a premature baby girl born July 19, 1951. Mr. Jackson was instructed to contact Mr. Kirkiands employer and verify his salary before any action is Kirkland taken relative to payment of the bill. He was further baby instructed to find out what other towns are doing in regard to payment of hospital bills for premature babies. Mr. Jackson reported favorably on the equipment for manufacture of ice cream at the L. J. Foss establisbieat Foss and recommended that a license be granted. ice creaM Upon motion made and seconded it was voted to grant license a license to L. J. Foss, 1734 Massachusetts Avenue for the manufacture of frozen desserts and/or ice cream mix. The meeting adjourned at 5:05 P.M. A true record, Attest: I i i
