Muwray as Agent for a term ex- piring March 31, 1952. It was further voted to re -appoint Mr. Thomas Bow- didge and Mr. Howard R. Murphy as Inspector of Animals: Application was received from Mrs. Viola P. Burgess, 34 Fletcher Avenue, for the renewal of her license to maintain a Boarding Home for Children. Mr. Jackson reported favorably and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the application. Application wps received from T. Kemp and Cedetta M. Maples for permission to keep 15 poultry at 161 Blos- som Street. Mr. Jackson reported that the neighbors have no objections and the applicants intend to keep the poul- try in a wooded section at the rear of their house. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to grant a permit for fifteen poultry. Application was received from Harry R. Mimno for permission to keep 2 cows, 1 goat and 50 poultry at 83 Pleasant Street. The members of the Board preferred to inspect the premises before taking any action on the ap- plication. Further consideration was given to Mr. Lloyd H. Mil- ler's application to keep 1500 poultry on his premises at 973 Concord Turnpike. Mr. Jackson reported that he and Mr. McGuinnes, who has charge of the reservoir, inspected the location last week. Mr. McGuinnes's attitude was that he is a policeman 1 1 1 and does not care what Miller does as long as it does not affect the Cambridge water basin. He suggested that Mr. Miller put up dikes and change part of the range where the poultry run in the summer. He will not write a letter but stated verbally that he has no objections to Miller keeping this number of poul- try if he follows the suggestions. Mrs. Arthur Hinds, of the Pine Hill Turkey Farm, met with the Board with reference to the letter sent to her when her permit to raise 5,000 turkeys was renewed. She said thatshe has built up a business and the possibility of her permit not being renewed at some future date does not give her much security. The Chairman explained that the only object in writing the letter was from the standpoint of the future and also from the standpoint of trying to help her. Mrs. Hinds stated that the permits expire on April 30th which from her point of view is not very practical. She explained that they., operation of her business starts the first of January and by April 1st she has 5,000 baby turkeys that have to be raised. Mr. Russell stated that he felt very sure the Board would be reasonable and if the time ever came when the Board would have to revoke the permit, she would be given ample time to clear up her business. Further consideration was given to It.. V.A. McCrea- sen's application for a permit to keep goats and poultry at 627 Massachusetts Avenue. Members of the Board in- spected the area and the Chairman said that he felt the location and facilities were suitable. Furthermore, the Board felt that Mrs. McCrassen's health was an item to be considered in view of the discussion held at the last meeting of the Board. The Board was in.. favor of granting a permit for not more than 6 goats and not more than 60 poultry. Application was received from Morris Mindick, 12 Intervale Street, Boston for a license to slaughter at 76 Laconia Street. Upon motion of Mr. McQuillan, seconded by Mr. Rus- sell, it was voted to deny the application. Upon motion of Mr. Mc4uillan, seconded by Mr. Rus- sell, it was voted to renew the license. Mr. Jackson's report for the period of February -16, 1951 to March 15, 1951, was noted and placed on file.
