Physiotherapy License Infant boarding home Past. of milk Gibson Poultry denied BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING October 20, 1950 A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Friday, October 20, 1950 at 3:00 P.M. Chairman Cosgrove, Messrs. Russell and McQuillan were pres- ent. Mr. Jackson, Health Sanitarian, and Miss Mur- ray, Agent, were also present. Application was received from Mrs. Grace B. Cole, 41 Kendall Road for the renewal of a physio- therapy License. Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Mc- Quillan, it was unanimously voted to renew the license. Application was received from Dorothy S. Kozman, 40 Normandy hoad for a license to maintain a child day nursery. It was agreed to defer action until after the Board of Appeals hearing which is scheduled for next Thursday evening. Application was received from Elisabeth White, 26 Downing Road for the renewal of a license to main- tain a Boarding House for Infants. Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Mc- Quillan, it was unanimously voted to approve the ap- plication and forward it'to the Division of Child Guardianship. Applications were received from Patrick Shana- han, 52 pleasant Street and John A. Sellars Dairy, 430 Concord Avenue, for the renewal of licenses to maintain establishments for the pasteurization of milk. Upon motion of Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Mc- Quillan, it was voted to renew both licenses. Application was received from William Gibson, 25 Bedford STreet for a permit to keep 50 poultry. Mr. Jackson reported that he alretdy has the poultry without a permit. It was the unanimous epinibn of the Board that no permit should be grantee to keep poultry in such a thickly settled residential area, and upon motion duly made and seconded, ti was voted to deny the ap- plication and request Mr. Gibson to dispose of the poultry which he now has not later than December 31, 1950. Application wa received from Mrs. Gordon Welch- man, 26 Hancock street for a permit to keep 6 poul- try. Mr. Jackson reported that she already has poul- try without a permit. It was the unanimous opinion of the Board that no permit sh uld be granted to keep poultry in such a thickly settled residential area, and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to deny the ap-, plication, and request Mrs. Welchman to dispose of the poultry not later than December 31, 1950. The Sanitarian's report for the period from Sept- ember 15th to October 19th was read. The report in- dicated that milk from the Cummings plant was still not up to standard requirements. Mr. Jackson was instructed to advise Mr. Cummings that his milk must meet the requirements and that an inferior grade will not be tolerated any longer. The meeting; adjourned at 4:40 P.M.
