BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
January 20, 1950
A regular meeting of the Board of Health was held in
the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Friday, Jan-
uary 20, 1950 at 3:00 P.M. Chairman .''Cosgrove, Mr. Jack-
son, the Health Sanitarian, and the Clerk were present.
Mr. John Brucci met with the Board with reference to
his application for permission to keep animals at his pro-
perty on Paul Revere Road.
Brucci: I had Mr. McQuillan up to my place and he agreed
that the place looked different than it did on
paper.
Chairman: We have not met, of course, since we were up to
your place and I can't act for the entire Board.
I will ask you to wait until the first of the
week and I will contact the other members of the
Board myself.
Brucci: Frankly, I did get an attorney and told him I
would let him know by tonight.
Chairman: The chances are he would not do anything before
the first of the week.

Brucci:
I could changethe application on the number of
goats from 2to 10.
Do you want to change it?
Yes, I will not have more than 10 at any one time.
If you only intend to keep 2 horses, don't leave
5 on the application.
The other night I was going to buy 2v horses, but
have no place to keep them. I can pick up horses
with weak backs at riding stables for a song. They
are not diseased. I take their shoes off and throw
them in the pasture and keep them for four months.
I can then get three or four times my money bab].
In the winter I will only keep three.
I don't expect to keep more than two cows in the
winter. In the summer if I can get some thin ones
I will fatten them up and in the cold weather
slaughter them for myself or sell them.
In the winter I trill keep only 2 horses, 2 cows and
25 sheep. I will keep 1 goat permanently. The
reason I have 1 goat is if a dog gets in he will
fight the dog off.

I will contact the other members of the Board.
You call me before six o'clock tomorrow night.
I had Mr. Jackson up there.
All four of us have been up there.
The only reason the people on Constitution Drive
signed the petition was because a friend of
theirs went down with the petition and asked them
to sign it. The people on Constitution Drive do
not use my end of Paul Revere Road at all.
I think we all have a better picture of it. Mr.
Russell may be back before Sunday. I will call
him on the phone.
If this doesnft go through, I have plans to go
ahead.
Mr. Brucci retired at 3:140 p.m.
Report of the Health Sanitarian for the period December 16,
19)49 through January 19, 1950 was noted and placed on file.
Invitation was received from The Lexington Visiting Nurse
Association for the Board to attend the Annual Meeting of
the Association at Parker Hall, First Parish Church on
Tuesday, January 2)4, 1950 at 8:00 p.m.
