Chairman McQuillan, Messrs Terhune and Lamont were present. The Clerk was also present. The Chairman stated that he had received a complaint to the effect that Ernest LaRose, 60 Harding Road was creating a nuisance because of the fact that he has no container for garbage which is apparently being thrown in his yard. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. LaRose and request him to obtain the proper container for garbage disposal. The Chairman asked the Health Inspector to investigate the condition of the cesspool on the property owned by Dr. Manning, 58 Harding Road and report tothe Board. Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted to enforce Section 1 of Chapter VI of the Board of Health Rules and Regulations whereby all owners of dwellings in Lexington Manor, abutting on a public or private way in which there is a common sewer, shall connect with the public sewer. The time designated for the sewers in this section to be connected is January 1, 1950. Mr. Lamont submitted a list of seven locations in Lexington where poultry is being slaughtered. The Clerk was instructed to advise the individuals now slaughter- ing poultry that a permit must be obtained from the Board of Health. Mr. Lamont reported that there are approximately fifty cesspools in the Woodhaven development (Spring Street area) that have been constructed with eight inch block. The Plumbing Laws require twelve inch walls of cement blocks and an eighteen inch wall of cement stone. The con- tractor who built the cesspools was not aware of the specifi- cations inasmuch as towns in which he has worked have varied requirements. Mr. Lamont recommended that no action be taken. Mr. Lamont reported that he had inspected Shoppers' Haven on Marrett Road and found the temperature of the Shoppers' water used for sterilizing to be less than is required. Haven He was instructed to make another inspection within ten days and if no improvement is made, the owner of the business is to be requ®sted to meet with the Board. 1 Letter was received from the State Department of Public Health listing the Boarding Homes for the Aged and Convalescent and Nursing Homes. Mr. Terhune called the Board's attention to the fact that the nursing home on Lincoln Street was not listed as one being licensed by the State. He agreed to check with the individual operating the }some to determine whether or not a license has been issued.
