BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
April 16, 1948
A regular meeting of the Board of Health was
held on Friday afternoon, April 16, 1948 in the Select-
men's Room. Town Office Building at 3;00 p.m. Chairman
McQuillan, Health Inspector Lamont and the Agent were
present.
The following licenses (renewals) were approved:

Application was received from Alice E. Marietta
for a license to maintain a Boarding Home for Children
at 22 Marrett Street. The Chairman requested the Health
Inspector to investigate and report.
Mr. George G. Whiting, 333 Waltham Street was re-
appointed Inspector of Slaughtering for the Town of
Lexington for a term expiring April 30, 1949.
The Health Inspector submitted and reported on
milk analysis taken April 12, 1948. Two dealers whose
bacterial count ran over 40,000 were questioned by the
Board of Health. The Inspector was instructed to make
more frequent inspections on the two dealers in question.
A detailed report was received from the Inspector
pertaining to his activities during the past month.
The Chairman stated that it has been recommended
that an amendment be added to the present Board of Health
Rules and Regulations relative to convalescent homes,
whereby they would be regwied to secure a certification

of approval from the Board of Health.
The Inspector reported that five houses have
been constructed on School Street on very low land.
During the spring, the area where the cesspools
are to be located, will be filled with water as high
as one foot above the surface of the ground, and he
questioned the advisability of issuing cesspool
permits.
The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
