BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING I
December 18, 1947
A regular meetingof the Board of Health was
�
held in thelectmen' Room,s R om, Town Office Building, 9
on Thursday afternoon, December 18, 1947, at 3:00 p.m.
There were present Chairman McQuillan, Messrs . Russell,
and Lamont.
In the matter of the Nursery School, 2325 Massa-
chusetts Avenue, Lexington, the Health Inspector
reported a septic tank of only 200 gallons had been
"`ursery Sch. - installed whereas a 300 gallon tank is required by
Septic tank law. Sand was used for filling 200 feet of drainage
instead of 2" stone as required by law. Upon motion
duly made and seconded it was voted to instruct the
Health Inspector to inform the builder that the sand
must be removed and replaced with stone, and a 300
gallon tank installed.
The Board received a report of the Health Inspector.
Garbage The Board signed permits granting transportation
Trans. of garbage in Lexington.
Permits
There was a discussion about the matter of
connecting houses in the North Lexington section of
the Town with the public sewer and it was decided to
contact the Board of Selectmen in connection with this
subject.
The Board discussed the advisability of having a
Board of Health consisting of more than three membdrs
and it was decided to discuss this matter with the
Board of Selectmen.
Mrs. Charlotte Crockett and Miss Mary Mullens,
Charlotte associated with the Middlesex Health Association,
Crockett appeared before the Board to explain in detail the
Re : T.B. program to be followed in the proposed X-ray T. B.
X-ray survey in Lexington.
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
