HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-03-27-BASS-min Board of Assessor's Meeting Open Session Minutes March 27, 2018 A Meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on March 27, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Selectmen Meeting Room of the Town Hall Office Building. In attendance: Gregory Johnson, Chairman, Edmund C. Grant, Member, Casimir Groblewski, Member, Robert F. Lent, Director of Assessing, Michael Golden,Assistant Assessor/Residential Field Manager and Sandra Pentedemos, Administrative Assessor. The Chairman, Gregory Johnson called the Meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Open Session Public Comment Time: Doug Lucente, owner of 1 Militia Drive presented his view of commercial condominiums in Lexington. There were no discussions of Financial Issues including Overlay Fund. Chairman Johnson made a motion that the Board of Assessors go into Executive Session under Purpose 7 in order to deliberate Fiscal Year 2018 Statutory Exemption Applications, Real Estate Abatement Applications, and Personal Property Abatement Applications since deliberation in Open Session would be detrimental. The Board voted, 3-0 in favor to go into Executive Session at 4:45 p.m. Executive Session occurred here: details may be viewed in separate Executive Session folder. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Assessors adjourned the Executive Session at 6:40 p.m. and returned to Open Session of the Meeting. Open Session The Board unanimously voted 3-0 in favor of five denials and approving of the remaining Fiscal Year 2018 Chapter 59, Section 59 Real Estate applications. (See list in Executive folder). There were no Fiscal Year 2018 Chapter 59, Section 5 various Clauses of Statutory Exemption applications. The Board reviewed and discussed the updates of an Appellate Tax Board litigation. (See Executive folder). The Board unanimously voted 3-0 in favor of the February 16, 2017, March 1, 2017, March 30, 2017 and the January 22, 2018 Open and Executive Meeting Minutes. The Board of Assessors next Meeting will be held on April 5, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. There being no other business a motion was duly made and seconded at 6:45 p.m.to adjourn the Meeting.
