SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
March 8, 1949
A special meeting of the Board of -Selectmen
was held on Monday .afternoon, March 8, 1949,
at 4:45 P.M. for the purpose of organizing for
the ensuing year. There were present: Messrs.
Emery, Gay, Driscoll, Nickerson and Hoyt. Mrs.
Flaherty, Acting ClerlR, was also present.
Mr. Emery moved that the Clerk be appointed
Temporary Chairman pending the election of a
permanent Chairman. Mr. Driscoll seconded the
motion, and it was so voted.
Mr. Gay then moved that Mr. George W. Emery
be elected Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for
the ensuing year. The motion was unanimously
seconded, and the Clerk was instructed to cast
one ballot in favor of the nominee and Mr.
Emery was declared elected.
Mr. Emery thanked the Board for their con-
fidence in him and he then presided over the
meeting.
A discussion followed conberning the Appro-
priation Committee's Report. a e members of the
Board expressed their opinions7to the construction
of the proposed new school and other matters per-
taining to the Town Meeting.
It was decided to meet Saturday morning at
10:30 A.M. for an informal discussion.
The meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
