Westview Street and a Mr. Hoyt asked to see the Board
at 7:35 P.M. Mr. Linehan said that he was interested
in the zoning of North Lexington, and he did not hear
anything about the proposed change to be considered at
the Town Meeting this evening. He explained that the
zoning at present is 250 feet each side of the rail-
road track and that he owns back to a depth on the
northerly side of the track 1,000. feet from the track.
Mr. Linehan said that he feels if the zoning were extended
it should be extanded to both sides of the track and that
he should receive some benefit.
The Chairman asked if he wanted the industrial zone
extended on the southerly side and Mr. Linehan replied
that he wanted it extended on the northerly side towards
the street.
The Chairman explained that the Planning Board had
gone into the matter in detail, made an extensive study
of the proposed change and felt that Mr. Greer's request
was justified. He explained that nothing further could
be done at this Town Meeting, but if Mr. Linehan has
some idea about further extending the light manufacturing
area he should submit his request to the Planning Board
who will study it and it might then be considered at some
subsequent town meeting.
Mr. Cromwell said that the Chairman had given Mr.
Linehan the best idea if he wants the zoning changed
further and Mr. Linehan said that he would just as soon
the zoning remains as it is; it now gives a preference
to Mr. Greer.
Mr. Cromwell explained that the Planning Board
only considered the petition by Mr. Greer, and a notice
of the hearing on the proposed change had been advertised
in the newspaper.
