Inasmuch as the Town Counsel has ruled that the Board of Selectmen has no right to consider the East Lexington Fire Station except in relation to the original bids, it was decided to ask Town Meeting for a total appropriation of $75,000, increasing the amount requested under Article 22 from $11,500 to $20,000. The Chairman informed the Board that Mr. Charles Goodwin of Coolidge Avenue was very much disturbed because the sewer had not been completed in Coolidge Avenue, and that money had been made available for this work. The balance in the account of $19, 517.24, according to the vote prepared for Town Meeting, is to be used for the North Lexington Sewer. The Chairman felt that this amount should not be transferred, but should be used for the Coolidge Avenue sewer. L 454 Ge The Board then decided to request that the sum of $170,000 be raised by the issue of bonds or notes of the Town, and that 415,000 be transferred from the gale of Real Estate Fund under Article 30 for the Construction of the North Lexington Sewer.
