September 7, 1945
A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen Was held in
the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Friday evening,
September 7, 1945 at 8:45 p.m. Chairman Locke, Messrs. Potter
Rowse and Sarano were present. The Clerk was also present.
At 8:45 p.m. hearing was declared open upon the application
of David A. Rix for permission to install six underground tanks,
on his property at 503 Waltham Street, for the storage of 9100
gallons of gasoline and oil.
Mr. Rix, his attorney, Mr. Robert L. Ryder, Mr. Shriber,
attorney for the Sun Oil Company and four other persons were
present at the hearing.
Notice of the hearing was read by the Chairman.
Mr. Ryder explained previously at a joint meeting of the
Board of Selectmen and the Board of Appeals, that through
an error, request was made for five underground tanks with a
total capacity of 7100 gallons. He would now like .the Board
to act on Mr Rix' application for six underground tanks with
a total capacity of 9100 gallons.
No persons spoke in opposition to the granting of the
permit.
Mr. Potter moved that the Board rescind its previous vote
of July 23, 1945 granting Mr. Rix a license to install five
underground tanks for the storage of 7100 gallons of gasoline.
Mr. Sarano seconded the motion, and it was so voted.
Mr. Potter then moved that the application for a license
to install six underground tanks for the storage of 9100
gallons of gasoline be granted. Mr. Sarano seconded the motion,
and it was so voted.
The hearing was declared closed at 8:55 p.m.
