August 8, 1944
A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was
held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building,
on Tuesday, August 8, 1944 at 5:45 P.M. Chairman
Locke, Messrs. Rowse, Potter and Sarano were present.
The members were notified of this meeting by the
Chairman. Mr. Sheldon was unable to be present.
The Chairman read a letter from Mr. James J.
Carroll, Town Clerk & Town Treasurer, requesting
approval of his appointment of Miss Mary R. McDonough
as Assistant Town Treasurer.
Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Rowse,
it was voted to approve Miss McDonough's appointment
as Assistant Town Treasurer.
The Chairman was instructed to advise Mr. Carroll
of this appointment, and to request him to see that the
Assistant Town Treasurer is properly sworn to the
faithful performance of her duties, and to arrange for
a bond as provided in the Statutes.
Upon motion of Mr. Potter, seconded by Ir. Sarano,
it was voted to appoint Miss Mary Jean Doherty as
Assistant Clerk of the Board of Selectmen.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
