HomeMy WebLinkAbout824 Lease of land of the late Eleanor Swan for a schoolhouse, Nathan Brooks to Town of Lexington, September 18, 1827I the Subcriber, administrator of the estate of Eleanor Swan, late of Lexington, widow, deceased, intestate, being applied to by a committee chosen by the inhabitants of said town of Lex- ington, for liberty to occupy, by erecting & placing a school- house on the same, the following piece of land, part of the estate of said deceased. viz. about half an acre of land in said Lexington. bounded northeasterly by the county road. southeasterly by land of Eli Robbins, and on all other sides by land late of said deceased. do hereby, so far as I have right and authority by virtue of my being administrator as aforesaid, give to said inhabitants of said Lexington liberty to erect a schoolhouse on said piece of land, and to continue the same there untill they shall be interrupted in their possession by the rightfull owner, or untill it shall be neces- sary to dispose of the same by sale in the course of adminsitration on said estate for the payment of debts or expenses, they the said inhabitants paying a reasonable rent for the use of said land - In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand this eighteenth day of Septem- ber A.
