Present: School Committee Chair Mary Ann Stewart; Vice-Chair Alessandro Alessandrini; School Committee Members Bonnie Brodner, Margaret Coppe, and Jessie Steigerwald. Also present were Dr. Paul Ash, Superintendent of Schools; Mr. Robert Harris, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources; and Mr. Robert Fraser and Ms. Colby Brunt, School Committee Counsel from Stoneman, Chandler, and Miller, LLP. The Chair called the Meeting of the Lexington School Committee to order. Motion to go into Executive Session to discuss strategy with regard to litigation and to reconvene in open session to further discuss Article 17. Further, as Chair, I declare that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the litigation efforts of the Lexington Public Schools (Stewart, Brodner). Return to Open Session The Committee returned to Open Session at 7:02 PM. 3. Further Discussion of Article 17 The Committee continued discussion of possible funding for town-wide busing for students. The Chair recessed the meeting at 7:23 PM. The School Committee remained in session and relocated to Cary Memorial Hall for the purpose of discussing Annual Town Meeting Articles. Voted by the School Committee May 22, 2012
