LEXINGTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE - EXECUTIVE SESSION

Present: School Committee Chair Mary Ann Stewart; School Committee Vice-Chair
Alessandro Alessandrini; Margaret Coppe; and Bonnie Brodner. (Jessie Steigerwald and
Student Representative Noah Coolidge in absentia).
School Committee Counsel Robert (Bob) Fraser and Colby Brunt, of Stoneman, Chandler,
& Miller, LLP and Town Counsel Kevin Batt, of Anderson & Krieger, LLP were also in
attendance.
Minutes were taken by the Chair.
The Executive Session was convened at 10:17 AM
Executive Session (Lower Level Conference Room 2)
The Chair raised questions concerning Minutes of February 25, 2009 and of June 15, 2009.
There were other questions from members and discussion with Counsel.
The Committee also discussed amending Executive Session Minutes of April 26, 2011 and
Executive Session Minutes of May 25, 2011 to reflect documents used at those two meetings; the
Minutes of these Executive Sessions had been Approved and Released on Wednesday, June 15,
2011.
At about 10:52 AM the Committee began discussion of strategy with regard to the School
Committee’s response to Open Meeting Law Complaints & Litigation filed by Mr. Eric Eid-
Reiner and Ms. Dawn McKenna. The Committee reviewed its response to date and also
reviewed comments to incorporate from member Jessie Steigerwald, who had forwarded via
email to School Counsel and Town Counsel in her absence.
Motion that School Committee Chair Mary Ann Stewart be authorized to sign
responses to Open Meeting Law Complaints of Mr. Eric Eid-Reiner and Ms. Dawn
McKenna as reviewed and approved by the School Committee and be sent to the
Attorney General’s Office (Brodner, Alessandrini). Alessandrini-aye; Brodner-aye;
Coppe-aye; and Stewart-aye.
Motion to adjourn Executive Session to return to Open Session for the purpose of
taking action on Executive Session Minutes of February 25, 2009 and June 15, 2009
and also to amend the Executive Session Minutes of April 26, 2011 and May 25,
2011 (Brodner, Alessandrini). Alessandrini-aye; Brodner-aye; Coppe-aye; and
Stewart-aye.
The Executive Session adjourned at 12:25 PM.
