LEXINGTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, November 15, 2010

Present: Superintendent Paul Ash, School Committee Chair Rod Cole, School Committee
Members Sandro Alessandrini, Margaret Coppe, Jessie Steigerwald and Mary Ann Stewart.
Minutes were taken by Rod Cole.
The meeting was convened at 7:03 p.m.
I. Call to Order and Welcome (Rod Cole).
II. Superintendents Announcements
1. We will be receiving some Green Building funds from the MSBA for the LHS roof and
windows, but not for the boiler. We will discuss this in more detail at our meeting on
11/30/2010.
III. Discussion Item
1. Discussion and Possible Vote on Support of Town Meeting Articles. The Committee
members discussed their positions on the relevant Articles. The following were moved and
voted upon:
Motion to support Article 2 (Steigerwald, Stewart). The motion passed 5-0.
Motions to support individual parts of Article 2 if broken out:
Motion to support line 1100, SEIU (Stewart, Alessandrini). The motion passed 5-0.
Motion to support line 1100, PCB (Steigerwald, Alessandrini). The motion passed 5-0.
Motion to support line 1100, health care (Stewart, Steigerwald). The motion passed 5-0.
Motion to support line 2400 (Steigerwald, Alessandrini). The motion passed 5-0.
Motion to support line 2300 (Steigerwald, Alessandrini). The motion passed 5-0.
Motion to oppose Peter Kelly’s amendment (Steigerwald, Stewart). The motion passed
5-0.
IV. Motion to recess to reconvene on Town Meeting floor and adjourn at end of tonight’s Town
Meeting (Steigerwald, Stewart). The motion passed 5-0.
Town Meeting was adjourned at 9:48 p.m.
