LEXINGTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, April 13, 2009
Cary Hall, Estabrook Hall
1605 Massachusetts Avenue
Present: Superintendent Paul Ash, School Committee Chair Margaret Coppe,
School Committee Members Rod Cole, Tom Diaz, Jessie Steigerwald, and
Mary Ann Stewart. The minutes were taken by Leora Tec.
The meeting was convened at 7:17 p.m.
I. Call to Order and Welcome (Margaret Coppe)
II. Members’ Reports / Members’ Concerns
Mary Ann Stewart: I will be chaperoning my 5th grader’s camping trip during the
next warrant signing.
Rod Cole: I attended the Capital Expenditures Committee (CEC) meeting last week
where they discussed the comprehensive plan. They thought it was a good, solid
report and seemed positive with going forward though they did not take a vote on
the plan.
Margaret Coppe: A local photography business asked why they could not be
considered to do the LHS yearbook. The editors met to determine their policy
regarding photographs for the yearbook.
Paul Ash needs to do some research regarding the policy statement.
Jessie Steigerwald and Rod Cole offered positive feedback on the new payment
system for the school lunch program.
III. Motion to recess to Town Meeting, to reconvene at the pleasure of the chair.
(Diaz, Cole). The motion passed 5-0.
The meeting was recessed at 7:25 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned following Town Meeting.
